Robin D. Carson
Executive Vice President and Managing Director
Robin Carson is responsible for overseeing all operations pertaining to Kingsmill Resort & Spa and Kingsmill on the James residential community, an Anheuser-Busch property located in Williamsburg, Va. Carson’s longstanding career with Worlds of Discovery theme parks subsidiary, Busch Entertainment Corporation, began more than 30 years ago at Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg in 1978.
In 1985, Carson was promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sesame Place in Langhorne, Penn, the nation's only theme park based on the award-winning television show Sesame Street®. She was promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager of SeaWorld San Antonio in 1991. From there, Carson was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager for Busch Gardens Africa and Adventure Island in Tampa Bay, Fla., a position she held until moving to Busch Entertainment Corporation’s corporate office in 2003 to assume the role of Vice President of Marketing for Busch Entertainment Corporation.
Carson was promoted to Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Kingsmill in August 2006. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Travel Industry of America.
Wayne Nooe
Vice President of Golf and Club Operations
Wayne Nooe oversees golf and sports club operations for Virginia 's largest golf resort and is responsible for managing all sports amenities and recreation, golf, golf maintenance, tennis, spa, sports club, marina and merchandise for the resort and residential community.
Nooe began his career at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina and then transferred to the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs , Va. At Kingsmill, in addition to his main title, Nooe serves as the LPGA tournament director for the Michelob ULTRA Open.
He is a member of the Professional Golfers Association of America and serves on the LPGA Tournament Owners Board of Directors.
Brent E. Wertz, C.E.C. A.A.C.
Vice President of Food and Beverage
Brent Wertz joined Kingsmill Resort & Spa as Vice President of Food and Beverage in 2002. He graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 1987 with high honors and brings two decades of experience in multi-regional cuisine to resort guests. Chef Wertz is a Certified Executive Chef and Member of the American Academy of Chefs, honor roll of the American Culinary Federation.
At Kingsmill, Wertz oversees the culinary experiences of 11 food and beverage experiences. His culinary feats include the introduction of trendy beer-pairing dinners at Kingsmill Resort infusing the latest brews from Anheuser-Busch with prime meats, seafood, vegetables and desserts. From the Budweiser Poached Shrimp to the AmberBock Truffle Tart, Wertz has created an eclectic menu that utilizes unique ingredients and seasonings to produce sumptuous, innovative dishes. Wertz is the spokesperson for The Anheuser-Busch Cookbook: Great Food Great Beer , 185 Flavorful Recipes for Pairing Beer with Food.
Wertz led a team of chefs and Anheuser-Busch Brewmasters to create a line of Budweiser barbecue sauces. He also has developed a signature line of Kingsmill sauces and seasonings available at specialty gourmet shops. Wertz's culinary genius has played an important role in the resort's winning many national awards including the AAA 4-Diamond Award, Conde Nast's Gold List, Meeting and Conventions Magazine's Gold Key Award and Resort & Great Hotels Connoisseur's Choice Award.
Chris George, P.G.A.
Head of Instruction, Kingsmill Golf Academy
As head of instruction for the year-round Golf Academy at Kingsmill Resort & Spa, Chris George is responsible for creating, supervising, and instructing all facets of golf instruction. George started teaching in 1994 and is a certified club fitter for Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, TaylorMade and Ping Custom Fitting Solutions. He currently teaches LPGA and Nationwide tour players as well as junior golfers from the AJGA and IJGA. George is also a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor Level One.
George works with many different player levels including recreational golfers, junior golfers that play at the high school level, as well as golfers that play competitively on the state or national level. He began his career at Fredericksburg Country Club in Fredericksburg , Va. as an Assistant Golf Professional. He is a Class “A” member of the Professional Golfers Association of America and has a Bachelor of Science from Ferrum College .
Brad Pegram
Director of Golf Maintenance
Brad Pegram oversees the pristine conditions of Kingsmill Resort & Spa's three world-class, 18-hole championship golf courses (the River Course, Woods Course and Plantation Course) in addition to the nine hole par-3 Bray Links. He’s been taking care of the courses since he joined Kingsmill in 1997 as Assistant Superintendent of the River Course. Pegram's meticulous oversight of Virginia's largest golf resort keeps Kingsmill's fairways and greens in prime condition year round.
Uwe Schluszas
Pastry Chef
Raised and trained in Germany , Schluszas began his career abroad working in Bermuda, London and Switzerland . While in Switzerland , he opened the pastry department at the Hotel National Zermatt where his duties included developing the dessert menu and producing all baked goods. Schluszas then joined the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio , Texas , as the Executive Pastry Chef and Assistant Banquet Maitre'D followed by the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta as the Banquet Maitre'D.
Schluszas' extensive knowledge in pastry and restaurant management serves him well at the Anheuser-Busch owned Kingsmill Resort & Spa where he oversees the Pastry Shop at Kingsmill, dazzling guests with his elaborate showpieces and desserts.
